Helleo welcomes all those who wish to turn to a more natural, higher quality lifestyle.
We are a family business with a passion for growing olives and every pure product that it can give us. With ecological conscience and respect for tradition, we cultivate our olive groves in the wider area of Viannos in Heraklion, Crete, famous for its microclimate and the excellent quality of the olive oil produced. Our goal is to make the purest and most natural soap from the organic olive oil we extract. So we created the line of handmade Helo soaps.
Production process
Organic cultivation of olive groves: With the art of our grandparents but also the valuable advice of scientific staff, we fertilize, prune and plow the olive groves in such a way that they effortlessly give us a quality extra virgin olive oil, free from any chemical substances. The whole process is done under the supervision and certification of the organization BioHellas.
Harvest (Olive picking): The olives are picked as part of a family celebration, as has been the case in Crete for a long time, where you mix to celebrate throughout the harvest season. The olives are picked at the right time, only by hand or by mechanical means and are ground in the certified olive mill of the area on the same day at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C, so that our fresh oil has the best possible quality.
Harvesting other raw materials: After a lot of effort and search, we either collect them ourselves or work with local producers to give us special and pure raw materials, which frame the olive oil in the soap. We choose products that Crete offers us in high quality in order to ensure the quality, traceability and nominal origin of our soap.
Preparation of the soap: The soaps are prepared with the cold method, in order to remain unchanged the valuable ingredients for the skin, but also to preserve the natural glycerin that is formed during the soaping and which is absent from the manufactured soaps. The cold method makes our soap and the preparation laboratory itself completely ecological.
Natural maturation of the soap: After the preparation and after cutting the soaps, they rest for at least 2 months in suitable natural conditions, so that they fully mature and become absolutely gentle on the skin. The completion of the maturation is followed by laboratory tests for the final confirmation of the safe use of the soaps.
